Arrived here at 8pm on a Friday evening, hostess opened the door for us. Service was really nice and came to us quickly. The Chicken Fried Steak entree was delicious, the green beans were excellent and were very buttery. The “truck Stop Deluxe Ribeye” was underwhelming unfortunately, it lacked seasoning & did not meet the price price point for what it was worth. The green beans that came with it were delicious though & so were the mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed my espresso Martini and found it to be a great complimenting drink with desserts. My favorite delicacy was the Carrot Cake, but I also enjoyed the Toffee cookie. The desserts and drinks for sure are excellent! Will return again but will try other entrees. This restaurant is worth trying!
Love the food always fresh. Staff is always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If you haven’t been to the Local, it’s a must try!
Steaks were good, came with two different steak sauce , one sweet and one tangy service was excellent
Driving through downtown LJ, the hubby and stumbled across this incredible restaurant. The Appetizer, my first time having mac & cheese bites and my dinner- Fish & chips & cole slaw was perfect. The fresh baked cookies- incredible. Our server Tori was so friendly, and wonderful. We will be returning for sure!
Wonderful restaurant! We had the burger, turkey sandwich, chicken salad and chicken noodle soup. So fresh and tasty!!!! Would go back for sure!
We were in Lake Jackson for a day and decided to eat at The Local. Wow. From the cocktails to the desert, everything was top notch. My wife had the wasabi crusted salmon and I had the Angus Filet. The filet was cooked to perfection, the asparagus were deliciously smokey with a nice crunch but very tender, the fried onions were outstanding... Just fantastic! We shared a blueberry lemon creme brulee for dessert. I am very critical of my creme brulee and this one was outstanding! Would definitely recommend!
I had the catfish (they were out of chicken-fried steak), and it was amazing! Jalapeno hush puppies were included. And I highly recommend the tamale cake appetizer! Fabulous! The staff was warm, welcoming, and very personable.
My husband and I have dined with this establishment twice, both time were wonderful! The staff is kind and attentive. The restaurant is clean, very cozy, and has tons of natural lighting. The food is excellent! We have had their steak, chicken fried steak, pork shanks, balsamic chicken breast, and their appetizers are awesome too! My husband enjoyed a prickly pear margarita and I a Moscow mule. We haven't had anything we didn't enjoy. We highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!
